About
Sixty-three years doing magic. Fifty of them as a full-time professional.
I started at ten, in Wilmington, Delaware, after watching a Houdini film on a black-and-white television. I left a drafting job to join a carnival, built a booking business in Sacramento, performed in Okinawa, and worked trade shows for companies that needed a crowd. More than twenty thousand escapes, and I've never had one go wrong.
The business side I learned in Sacramento. My minimum there was $650 and I was glad to get it, until the Kings taught me to price against the client's world instead of the competition's. I've taught that to other performers ever since.
The rest of the story is at troymilligan.com, and in my book, The Mindset Magician.
